Tanker operators choose Svanehøj’s Super Stripping

European customers are increasingly discovering the benefits of the Svanehøj Super Stripping System, which offers improved efficiency, saved costs, and minimized operation time in port.

If a product or chemical tanker is equipped with a conventional stripping system, up to 20 liters of residue will remain after stripping. In contrast, Svanehøj’s integrated Super Stripping System leaves less than 0.5 liters of residue in the tank. This significantly reduces cargo waste and saves the crew valuable time by minimizing the need for tank emptying and washing when preparing the vessel for its next job.

Recently, two renowned shipowners from Germany and Sweden both chose DL cargo pumps with integrated Super Stripping for their newbuilds. One order includes 10 small chemical tankers, each equipped with 12* DL100 deepwell cargo pumps, while the other features 12* DL132 deepwell cargo pumps for each of five mid-sized chemical tankers.

How does it work?

The Svanehøj Super Stripping System is installed as an independent unit within the cargo tank. A compact vacuum tank is mounted directly on the pipe stack of the deepwell pump inside the cargo tank and connected via piping to a control unit on deck, which can be operated either manually or automatically.
