A proud day for Svanehøj at the ITT Awards 2024
We received remarkable recognition at this year's ITT Awards, an annual celebration of exceptional value creation across ITT businesses worldwide, hosted at ITT HQ in Stamford, CT.
- Winner in the ‘Innovation’ category for the Svanehøj CS Fuel Pump for LNG.
- Nominated in the ‘Customer Centric’ category for providing fuel pump systems for a new series of ammonia-driven bulk carriers.
Svanehøj representatives traveled from Denmark to Stamford to present the projects, demonstrating our dedication to solving real-world challenges in the maritime industry to the ITT jury members.
Winner: ‘Innovation’ category
Our R&D team, represented by Jacob Henneberg Nielsen and Gudjon Thor Olauffson presented our CS Fuel Pump. Equipped with the most efficient submerged cryogenic motor on the market, the CS Fuel Pump:
- Reduces energy consumption, minimizes boil-off gas.
- Extends service intervals, addressing one of the industry’s key challenges.
- Features a patented, self-cleaning LNG filter that eliminates the risk of clogging and ensures maximum uptime.
“With the CS Fuel Pump, we have been focusing on customer challenges our customers face and worked to create a solution that optimizes their operations. Extending service intervals for submerged pumps was a key goal, and along with that, the ITT jury highlighted the permanent magnet motor and patented filtration solution as innovation criteria”, says Jacob Henneberg Nielsen.

Nominated: ‘Customer Centric’ category
In this category, our fuel sales team – led by Casper Haugaard Banch and Marc Poulsen – was recognized for their work on eight ammonia-fueled bulk carriers, where Svanehøj supplied 32 deepwell fuel pumps.
Key benefits of our deepwell design include:
- Electrical components are placed outside the tank, ensuring easy access during service.
- Prevention of excessive heat generation from the motor, reducing boil-off gas and tank pressure.
“It was a collaborative effort with both shipowner and shipyard, where we provided tailored advice to stakeholders unfamiliar with ammonia as a fuel. Safety and optimal design were critical factors, and our solution stood out as the optimal choice”, says Casper Haugaard Banch.
