All hands onboard for health and safety at Svanehøj

Over the past two weeks, we have run an engaging Health & Safety campaign focused on hand and finger injuries, shining a light on a common risk in our industry.

Through interactive activities and increased awareness, this campaign has been a great reminder of our shared commitment to preserving the health and safety of our people in Svanehøj, in line with our ESG targets.

We kicked things off with an activity where employees left painted handprints as a symbol of commitment to shared responsibility for safety. Throughout the campaign, our dedicated Health & Safety representatives wore green shirts with QR codes leading to our digital platform for reporting unsafe conditions and incidents. This visibility has been key to fostering safety conversations across the company.

“We wanted to create something memorable and drive awareness of everyday risks in a creative way. It’s not about putting up signs with rules; it’s about empowering every employee to take ownership of safety, from reporting potential hazards to supporting each other on the job, rather than management telling them what to do”, says Elisabeth Kjær Aarup, Head of Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety (QEHS).

At Svanehøj, we aim to foster a culture where health and safety is a shared responsibility through risk assessment, safety awareness and encouragement to register potential unsafe conditions so we can act on them. Every employee is encouraged to take the extra time necessary to perform a task properly, knowing that there is full support from management to prioritize safety over speed.

We are excited to see how this campaign sparks an even deeper commitment to safety in our company.
